Hunter Sailing Association of Oregon (HSAO) is a non-profit organization to promote cruising, primarily among boats built by Hunter Marine and to educate its members in sailing skills through a program of cruising, educational sessions, and club meetings.

HSAO believes that the best and fastest way to learn to sail is through club activities. HSAO also provides guidance in the rules of the road, water safety, and seamanship. As the river becomes more crowded, these factors become more important. HSAO believes that the best way to achieve these goals is through club sailing.

HSAO general meetings are educational, with guest speakers and presentations, with a general exchange of sailing and cruising ideas. Our general meetings are open to all, and serve as an opportunity for us to meet and catch up.

HSAO is very proud of its newsletter. The club uses every opportunity to communicate with the membership by email, and encourages each member to receive a newsletter by email.

HSAO sponsors a number of cruising events, including many weekend cruises to destinations along the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. One traditional cruise, the "HSAO Rendezvous and Regatta", occurs mid-summer when members have the opportunity to sail against other Hunter sailboats in a fun, low stress weekend event sponsored by Hunter Marine and Passion Yachts.

HSAO is a do-it-yourself organization. Members are encouraged to volunteer for work projects, committees, and cruise host duty.
